Founder and President
David is the Founder and President of Kalorama Wealth Strategies. After many years advising business owners and financial advisors, David now provides his financial services expertise to individual clients. His mission is to help professionals, business owners, and their families achieve greater financial security and independence through a long-term relationship based on trust and confidence.
Before establishing Kalorama, David had more than 10 years experience in the financial services industry. He has provided investment management consulting services to Registered Investment Advisers by helping them with business development, asset allocation and portfolio construction, and investment analysis and selection. Prior to that, he was a Director with a national industry association where he advised financial executives of publicly traded companies regarding their financial reporting and disclosure matters. Before working with the association, he established an investment research department for a Registered Investment Adviser that manages investment portfolios for institutions and high-net-worth individuals. He was also an investment analyst with a Dow Jones Newswire, where he published research on public companies in a variety of industries.
David is uniquely qualified to advise individuals regarding their investments and financial planning matters. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP)TM professional and a member of the Financial Planning Association; Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder with membership in the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Washington, D.C.; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of Maryland; and Chartered Realty Investor (CRI).
Since 1999, David has been an Adjunct Professor at the American University's Kogod School of Business Administration in Washington, D.C., teaching graduate courses in real estate principles and investments.
David received a Master of Science in Accounting from the American University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Towson University.
A resident of the Washington, D.C. area since 1972, David now lives in the District where he takes advantage of the city's offerings by enjoying its architecture, museums, and theatres. You may also find him volunteering with various non-profit organizations.
